Women Make Movies (WMM), a NY based non-profit media organization that supports women filmmakers, is seeking a smart, savvy, and highly motivated full-time Distribution & Sales Coordinator (DSC) to work within our Distribution Program.
Under the direction of the Distribution & Sales Manager, the DSC will be responsible for all customer-related activities and the day-to-day operations of distribution, including providing customer service to all educational customers; helping sell films to the educational market; and managing materials related to efficient running of distribution.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum two years customer service and sales experience, ideally in a non-profit environment.
• Commitment to feminist film and Women Make Movies required.
• Extremely detail oriented with strong prioritization, organization, and communication and writing skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, self-starter, and team player.
• Excellent common sense and sense of humor a must.
Although this position affords a great opportunity to learn about the field of independent film as well as nonprofit arts management, you must have at least two years post-college working experience in an office environment and be comfortable with sales. We are also looking for someone who understands the big picture, but is able to work within shades of grey. Women Make Movies’ Production Assistance (PA) Program provides assistance to emerging and experienced women directors in the production of new documentaries, fiction and experimental films.
