Almost everything I learned about marketing, design, and event management has been through adventures with Maori Karmael Holmes. That may be a little bit of an exaggeration, but really my point is 1. This woman has A LOT of experience with the good, the bad and the ugly of the world of marketing arts and culture events, films and music and you need to hear it out and 2. She’s real smart and 3. Don’t sleep on this opportunity.
Lots of you ask me for advice and so my advice is: sign up for this workshop.
Starting June 5th she’ll be teaching a DIY Marketing For Filmmakers Workshop at Scribe Video Center that continues through Tuesdays in June. If you live in Philly and you are trying to learn more about marketing strategies I recommend signing up!
Whether your film is in pre-production or in the can, you need a strategic marketing plan. A solid marketing plan can help you get funders on board, folks in seats, and DVDs in the Cart. Take this intensive 4-session workshop and leave with a realistic marketing plan that you can implement across a variety of platforms. You will learn how to create effective written, visual and digital content for print and social media, film festivals, crowd funding campaigns, and your very own website. Computer literacy with social network (e.g. Facebook) experience is required.
