The Media That Matters Film Festival, organized by Arts Engine, Inc, is the premier showcase for short films on some of the most important topics of the day. From lgbt rights to global warming, the jury-selected collection represents the work of a diverse group of independent filmmakers, many of whom are youth filmmakers under the age of 21. What all the films have in common is that they spark debate and action in 12 minutes or less.
A collection of films from the festival will be screening at Scribe Video Center this Friday, June 8th. The event is free and open to the public. The line up includes local Philly filmmaker and media activist Nuala Cabral and Christina Antonakos-Wallace’s Article of Faith, part of multi-platform project I recently joined the team of.
