Friday Snapshot: Media Consumption Week of November 3

Feature Length Film
Star Trek: Voyage Home. [I know, I know. It’s not one of the better ones in the series. But I loved the saving the whales bit when I was a kid when it came out and I was a blossoming activist/environmentalist.]

TV
-5 episodes of season 1 of Freaks and Geeks [Why did I not know about this show until now? And why did I not know that it was on Netflix streaming? It’s hilarious watching a super young James Franco, Jason Seigel, Seth Rogan, Rashida Jones, and Jason Scwartzmann in a high school comedy.]
-2 episodes of The Voice current season play offs [Can we talk about Cee Lo’s wig the other night?]
-1 new episode of current season of Ink Master [I’m rooting for Sebastian or Jamie at this point though I think Sara is really good too]

Print
-Continued A Happy Marriage by Rafael Yglesias
-Continued 1493: Uncovering the New World Columbus Created by  Charles C. Mann

Podcast
-No podcasts this week!

And if you feel inspired, now it’s your turn! I’d love to hear what you’ve been watching and listening to.

  1. LOVE Freaks and Geeks. It’s so funny and so poignant. Too bad it was so short lived.

I very rarely do this, but I watched I think 11 episodes of Homeland this week. I just wanted to check it out to see what the fuss was about, and it’s cliffhanger city so I got hooked. And I’m watching Nashville every week, even though it’s pretty awful. Other than re-watching SOLAR MAMAS and watching endless election coverage, pre and post, that’s about it!

    Did you ever see ARGO?

    • Do you know why it was cancelled? It looks like it probably had a big budget for a TV show at the time (ie not all shot on sets and shot more like a film).

So Homeland is worth the hype then, huh? There’s been so much buzz about it and everyone says a similar thing about it being addictive. Gonna have to download a few for the holidays soon maybe. Thanks for the recommendation!

And, no. Still no Argo. Ridiculous, I know.
