Sundance Screenwriters Intensive comes to Philadelphia

I’m so excited that this new program from Sundance is starting off here in Philadelphia. Screenwriters, if you have a draft of a feature length script consider applying for this amazing (and free!) opportunity. I’ve already blocked off my calendar in hopes of being one of the twelve people accepted (though I anticipate it being pretty competitive with so many talented filmmakers in this city).

Led by veteran screenwriter Joan Tewkesbury (NashvilleThieves Like Us), the Sundance Institute Screenwriters Intensive provides writers with tools to delve deeply into their characters and make vital discoveries to enrich their stories. A new program from Sundance, the Screenwriters Intensive comes first to Philadelphia. In order to be eligible, applicants must be based in the Philadelphia area, and must be developing a feature-length narrative screenplay. We are seeking writers whose projects fit broadly into the Sundance model; specifically, films that are independent in terms of story and spirit, character-driven, and reflective of the writer’s authentic voice and personal vision. The Screenwriters Intensive is limited to twelve participants.
