“Vanessa Renwick’s films reveal the hidden stories & secret lives that define our great national weirdness, imbued with the radical curiosity and vision of a true pioneer.” Todd Haynes, filmmaker
Filmmaker Vanessa Renwick comes to Space 1026 for the first time since 2002, on her “NSEW Film Tour”! She will present a collection of her amazing short experimental and documentary film work. Without fail, the work is intense, hard to pin down, and even harder to forget.
These short, personal constructions demonstrate a wide range of formal approaches and subjects that include nuclear power, hitchhiking, Toxic Shock, wolves, jellyfish, and a taste of the wild west, be it a horse fighting a bear, a homoerotic rodeo or the gentrification of Portland.
Sunday October 18, 7:30pm
1026 Arch Street 2nd floor
Films feature with scores by Sam Coomes, Tara Jane ONeil, Lori Goldston, Jef Brown, Donovan Skirvin, Johnee Eschelman, Chris Sands and more!
Vanessa will do a Q&A after the screening.
